Tedious but necessary

What we didn't realize was all the nitty gritty that has to be done before the ‘fun’ part of the build begins. Like removing interior side panels and flooring before cleaning it all. Addressing any speck no matter how teeny tiny of rust by painting with Rustoleum. Then add the rattle stoppers/ noise reduction barriers. We used Kilmat which is super easy to apply: basically peel, stick, roll out. (But for this old dog the rolling was killer on the shoulder.) Then re-install the plywood floor which will act as our sub floor.

We also removed the exterior side mouldings to check for rust. Fortunately there wasn't any. We cleaned the panels, caulked the plug holes with silicone for surety going forward.

There is a propensity for water to get in the plug holes which can lead to rust. We then replaced the moulding. Easy but time consuming. There are many other steps we'll need to take to get her ready for the 'fun' part of the build; interior design and decoration!

Poraxy makes a great tool kit for making your life easier removing panels and the like in your build.
